Technical details for supplying open file(s)

Layout

The files must be created in Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop.

  • Ensure that artwork is easy to read and in layers; the document must have a 3 mm margin on all sides.
  • Ensure that technical specifications are correct with regard to overfill, etc.
  • Always supply PDFs of the open files. Profiles for creating a certified PDF are available on certifiedpdf.net).

Colour

  • Ensure that you supply your design in CMYK or PMS colours. With a minimum colour density of 5%.
  • If you use more than 4 colours, you should convert the document to full colour.
  • Define the used colours carefully (note: 032 C and 032 CVU are 2 different colours for example).
  • With full colour, if possible supply colour reference

Fonts
Supply all used fonts (the screen fonts and the postscript fonts);

  • Do NOT use True Type fonts.
  • Do not make letter contours.

Images, Photos, Logos
Images, logos and photos must always be supplied separately.

  • Images, logos and photos must have a minimum resolution of 150 DPI and a maximum resolution of 300 DPI.
  • Never enlarge placed images.
  • Supply images, logos and photos in JPG, TIFF or EPS format.
  • Save images, logos and photos in CMYK or PMS colours.
  • Never use foreign language characters in file names.
  • Always save paths as cut-out paths

Comments:

Always use the correct punch forms (supplied by us) in the layout of boxes. And always request the right formats for package leaflets and labelling.

All texts must comply with the text specifications supplied by us. If you wish to lay out your own printed matter, we will ensure that you receive these specifications.

If you make labels to be printed on silver, different specifications apply. These can be requested from your contact person.

If you are not experienced in the layout of graphic files, our designer can do this for you.
