The world’s first, pre-filled contact lens case

Oté Group and Polaroid Contact Lens Solutions announce an innovative new product range specifically designed for use during travel and leisure activities.
Contactspod is a very simple but ingenious way of storing lenses in a sealed, single-use case that comes pre-filled with a sterile, multipurpose solution suitable for all contact lens wearers.

The Contactspod, which is the size of a make-up compact, has a left and right compartment containing a sealed, sterile & hydrating multipurpose contact lens solution. This solution is produced by leading manufacturer Oté Group. Once lenses are in place and the Contactspod case is closed, an airtight seal is formed which will keep contact lenses safe and ready for use once needed.

TRAVEL PACK
The compact design makes Contactspod perfect for use when travelling – indeed many airlines advocate removal of contact lenses during a flight. It can also be used for Spa activities, when snorkelling or swimming – in fact any occasion when lens removal is required. The product will be available for travellers as Contactspod Travel Pack, containing two Contactspods, a clear resealable security bag and five single-use vials of Polaroid Eye Drops, which are preservative-free, contact lens friendly drops containing Vitamin B to help protect against dryness and irritation.

PRIVATE LABEL
The Contactspod will also be available as a private label product. The product can be packaged as the Travelpod, with the packaging designed according to client brand guidelines.

SOLUTIONS
Also new from Polaroid Contact Lens Solutions is “the solution” range of all-in-one multipurpose solution with Pro Vitamin B5. A gentle solution for supreme comfort and cleaning, “the solution” will be available in 100ml, 250ml and 360ml bottles.

RESEARCH
Research shows a significant market for Contactspod and consumers are excited about the benefits.
An independent survey carried out by a leading contact lens consultant revealed that:

  • 86% of contact lens wearers questioned have been in a situation where they would have liked to remove their lenses but didn’t have a case to put them in
  • 90% of contact lens wearers questioned would be interested in a pre-filled case with solution that remains sterile until opened
  • 80% would use the product more than twice a year and 29% would use the product more than 10 times a year
